Sacramento, California (April 30, 2021) – Fortuna Business Management and Consulting’s (BMC) is proud to share that its Chief Executive Officer Jack Smith won GDS Group 2021 Leadership Excellence Award for Integrity.

Jack was chosen as the winner by a judging panel which consisted of former CIO Leadership Excellence Awards winners during a live, interactive virtual ceremony at the CIO Digital Summit USA. He received this award based on his ethics, improving the working lives of his colleagues, helping veterans and entrepreneurs, supporting marketplace change, and reducing environment impact.

The Leadership Excellence Awards brings together senior executives from some of the biggest brands from across the globe. This summit provides a chance for these senior executives to be recognized for their achievements within their industry. Other categories included in the Leadership Excellence Awards include Gold, Innovation, and Impact.

When asked how Fortuna BMC has been able to overcome the past year’s challenges, Jack said, “Trying to stay connected while being completely separate. We were already a global organization with folks in the Philippines as well as Egypt and throughout the United States.”

He went on to further say, “[The pandemic] forced us to get creative and we spent most of the pandemic investing in tools, especially collaboration tools.” As a small business IT consulting and staffing company, Jack also said, “As we are growing quickly, we had to innovate our technology processes while building the bridge as we go across it.”

When asked how adapting to the new digital world helped Fortuna BMC, Jack said, “It gave us velocity. We were able to go from a 30-person team to a just before the pandemic hit to almost an 800-person company today.”
