Diana Potts, Veteran and Leading Expert in Small Diversity Businesses, Appointed as Chief Operations Officer of Fortuna BMC
Diana Potts, Chief Operations Officer is a Veteran, a well-known author and speaker with more than 20 years of business development, economic development, and proposal management experience. Ms. Potts has consulted for Johnson Controls, Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and General Dynamics as well as hundreds of small businesses. She has provided training and proposal support to Federal agencies like GSA, FEMA, NASA, and the Treasury, and businesses of varying sizes.
Ms. Potts has worked with industry and educational institutions to help develop business opportunities and provide training. She is considered a leading expert for small diversity businesses and served as the NC delegate to the Business Advisory Council to the White House for two terms.
Ms. Potts has been involved in both an advisory and leadership capacity for numerous organizations. Ms. Potts was also one of twenty top environmental leaders in the nation chosen to join a Green Sustainability panel at the Pentagon, where she helped write the Department of Defense’s Sustainability Plan, which serves as the prototype for 36 other agencies.
Ms. Potts has been awarded with the Congressional Honor for Disaster Response and Recovery, the Congressional Medal of Distinction for Environmental Efforts, the National Leadership Award, the Businessperson of the Year for North Carolina, and the Business Advisory Council to the White House.
Ms. Potts has served as Vice President on the Board of Braxton-Bragg AUSA, the largest chapter in the world, served on the Board of Sustainable Sandhills (a Fort Bragg initiative), and as the Chair of Workforce Development Board. She leaves her most recent position, as Fortuna’s Director of Economic Development, to take the position of Chief Operations Officer at Fortuna BMC.
