We are seeking a Cloud/AWS Senior System Architect to lead enterprise system and cloud architecture efforts for a mission-critical federal program. This is a high-impact role for an architect who thrives in complex environments, driving secure, scalable, and reliable architectures that comply with federal IT and security standards.
This is a six-month contract position starting 1.5.2026 -7.5.2026. Must be a US citizen

WORK SCHEDULE
Full-time,. Occasional flexibility may be required to support program needs.
PAY RATE
$62.00 - $65.00 per hour

WHAT YOU'LL DO
Design and implement enterprise-wide architecture solutions across cloud, database, and infrastructure environments
Develop architecture frameworks and models aligned with operational, technical, and informational requirements
Lead planning and design of complex, scalable infrastructure systems-including DevOps pipelines, servers, and databases
Translate business and technical requirements into strategic architectural solutions and integration strategies
Drive adoption of AWS GovCloud and other cloud-based platforms, ensuring security, scalability, and performance
Collaborate with stakeholders, analysts, engineers, and developers to define application and data architecture standards
Conduct technical evaluations of current systems and recommend improvements for performance and efficiency
Ensure architectural solutions conform to enterprise standards, project goals, and cybersecurity requirements
Lead or participate in agile teams and DevOps processes to ensure architectural alignment across development cycles
Support the full lifecycle of IT systems: design, development, enhancement, maintenance, and modernization
Provide documentation and technical guidance to cross-functional teams and government stakeholders
WHAT YOU'LL BRING
Bachelor's degree with 12+ years' experience (or 16+ years without a degree) supporting enterprise IT systems
Certified AWS Solutions Architect with proven expertise in cloud design and implementation
Experience with IBM, Oracle, and cloud-based products in secure federal environments
Strong background in Identity & Access Management (IAM) and AWS GovCloud
Knowledge of cybersecurity standards and secure architecture best practices
Demonstrated ability to design and manage highly available, business-critical systems
Deep understanding of software development, testing, and release management lifecycles
Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies and their impact on system architecture
Ability to lead multi-disciplinary teams and perform complex technical tasks
US Citizenship required; ability to obtain and maintain a Public Trust security clearance
