WORK SCHEDULE:
40 hours per week; shift variations include:
Sunday – Thursday: 11:30 PM – 8:00 AM
Tuesday – Saturday: 7:30 AM – 4:00 PM or 3:30 PM – 12:00 AM
PAY RATE:
$28.00 per hour

WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Provide day-to-day care and support to veterans in a 24/7 Domiciliary setting
Listen to patient concerns, observe behaviors, conduct rounding, and report condition or behavior changes to clinical staff
Lead therapeutic and recreational activities
Assist with patient intake and discharge
Monitor patient behavior to maintain a safe and structured environment
Escort patients and ensure supervision and therapeutic engagement throughout the recovery process
Perform therapeutic and supportive tasks assisting physicians and rehabilitation personnel
Observe patients for symptoms, reactions, and indications to treatment
Assist in group or individual therapy sessions
Provide supportive assistance to patients on maintenance therapy
Follow all VA North Texas Healthcare System guidelines and policies
Maintain accurate records, follow infection control guidelines, and wear appropriate PPE
Occasionally serve as receptionist at the Bonham Domiciliary front desk, greeting patients and assisting with inquiries
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Proof of BLS and/or ACLS certification
High School Diploma and two years (minimum 12 semester hours) of post-secondary study in health sciences, nursing, behavioral science, social science, guidance, counseling, teaching, biological sciences, or a related field
Minimum one (1) year of direct patient care performing therapeutic and supportive duties in a rehabilitation or medical setting
Documented experience providing residential rehabilitation patient care
Three (3) professional references (name, address, capacity, and phone number), including the current or most recent supervisor
Ability to follow directions, determine care priorities, and maintain professional communication
Computer literacy and ability to use electronic health record systems
Must be technically proficient, fluent in English (speaking, reading, writing), and meet VA ethical and professional standards
Must adhere to VA Medical Staff By-Laws, rules, and facility dress code
Must meet all physical, health, and competency requirements
