Fortuna is excited to offer a dynamic internship opportunity for to gain hands-on experience as Department Assistants, supporting the daily operations of various departments. This is an excellent chance to develop professional skills, contribute to meaningful projects, and work with experienced professionals in a collaborative environment.
LOCATION: Remote
WORK SCHEDULE: Flexible Monday-Friday schedule, 10 hours per week.
COMPENSATION: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Calendar Management:
- Coordinate and schedule meetings, appointments, and events for the department.
- Ensure calendars are up-to-date and free of conflicts.
- Send reminders and confirm appointments.
Email Processing:
- Monitor and manage shared email inboxes.
- Prioritize and flag important emails for your team's attention.
- Ensure timely responses to inquiries and follow-ups.
- As experience is developed, proactively manage email routing, delegation, and follow-up.
- Administrative Support:
- Prepare meeting agendas, take minutes, and distribute meeting summaries.
- Organize and maintain files, documents, and records.
- Handle confidential information with discretion.
- Assist in the preparation of reports, presentations, and correspondence.
- Supporting special projects or initiatives and overseeing the work of support staff.
Coordination and Communication:
- Answer calls and emails, respond to questions, and provide information.
- Facilitate communication and follow-up on various tasks and projects.
- Draft emails and memos as required.
General Office Duties:
- Perform general office duties such as ordering supplies.
- Support other administrative staff as needed.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) and other relevant software.
- Ability to handle multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
- Strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

- Detail-oriented with strong follow-through skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- Willing to work PST standard office hours as needed
