We are seeking an experienced and talented Senior Network Operations Engineer to lead the management, maintenance, and optimization of our large-scale network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring deep expertise in enterprise-level networks, SD-WAN architecture, and a proactive approach to ensuring robust network performance, security, and scalability.
WORKSITE: Northern California Roseville, CA - Hybrid. Three 3 days are required onsite.
WORK SCHEDULE: Monday-Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM
PAY RATE: $60/hour to $65/hour, possible overtime as needed
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Network Design and Implementation
--Design and implement LAN, WAN, and cloud-based network solutions that align with organizational goals.
--Architect and plan for high-availability network designs, ensuring redundancy, performance, and security.
--Configure routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers, and other network devices.
--Deploy and maintain network hardware and software, ensuring seamless integration with existing infrastructure.
Network Performance and Optimization
--Analyze network traffic and troubleshoot issues, minimizing downtime and ensuring peak performance.
--Implement techniques for bandwidth management, Quality of Service QoS, and latency reduction.
--Monitor network health using advanced tools like Wireshark and packet tracing to proactively address inefficiencies.
Network Security
--Implement and maintain security policies and configurations, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and secure routing protocols.
--Ensure compliance with security standards to safeguard the organization's critical data and operations.
Capacity Planning and Growth
--Plan for future network capacity needs, ensuring the infrastructure supports growing traffic, users, and applications.
--Manage hybrid cloud network environments, integrating services like AWS, Azure, and GCP with on-premise networks.
Disaster Recovery and Continuity
--Develop and implement disaster recovery plans, focusing on redundancy, failover mechanisms, and business continuity.
Collaboration and Leadership
--Collaborate with cross-functional IT teams to support organizational goals.
--Document policies, procedures, system architectures, and best practices to ensure knowledge sharing and operational consistency.
--Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to recommend continuous improvements.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Technical Proficiency
--Extensive experience in enterprise-level networks with high traffic volume and multiple locations.
--Advanced knowledge of router and switch configurations.
--Proficiency with firewalls e.g., Cisco ASA, Fortinet, Palo Alto, VPN technologies IPsec, SSL, MPLS VPN, and load balancing F5.
--Strong architectural knowledge of SD-WAN networks.
--Thorough understanding of Wi-Fi technologies 802.11 a/b/g/n/ac/ax, WLAN design, and Wi-Fi troubleshooting.
Problem-Solving and Troubleshooting:
- Expertise in network diagnostics using tools like Wireshark and packet tracing.
- Experience managing complex network upgrades, migrations, and installations.
Communication and Collaboration:
--Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for technical documentation, reporting, and collaboration.
Education and Experience:
--Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
--5+ years of experience in enterprise network environments.
--3+ years of experience documenting policies, procedures, and system architectures.
--Proven expertise in networking principles and practices.
