We are seeking a talented and experienced Professional Network Engineer to assist in the management, maintenance, and optimization of our network infrastructure. The ideal candidate will bring a wealth of knowledge in Cisco switching/IOS/firewall, SD-WAN network architecture, and network best practices to support the reliability and performance of our operations across 140+ sites and AWS.
WORKSITE: Northern California Roseville, CA - Hybrid
WORK SCHEDULE: Business hours
PAY RATE: $60/hour to $65/hour
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Network Maintenance and Optimization
- Maintain and implement network solutions to ensure high availability and performance.
- Plan and execute maintenance activities, including firmware updates, security patches, and hardware replacements.
Network Security
- Assist in evaluating, testing, and documenting current network security baselines for both hardware and software.
- Ensure compliance with security protocols to meet organizational needs.
Performance Monitoring and Troubleshooting:
- Monitor network performance using tools like SolarWinds and Wireshark to ensure efficiency and reliability.
- Provide troubleshooting support for network outages, slowdowns, or incidents affecting infrastructure.
Collaboration and Documentation:
- Collaborate with other infrastructure teams, including Windows, Linux, and Cloud, to enhance operational performance.
- Develop and maintain comprehensive documentation of system configurations, procedures, and best practices.
Support and Development:
- Participate in on-call rotations and provide support for system emergencies and maintenance activities.
- Stay updated with industry trends and emerging technologies, recommending infrastructure improvements and enhancements.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
-Strong experience in Cisco administration, including switching configurations and firewalls.
-Working knowledge and hands-on experience with SD-WAN networks.
-Proficiency in network troubleshooting tools like packet tracing and Wireshark.
-Knowledge of F5 appliances and their administration.
-Experience implementing and maintaining VPN solutions.
-Bachelor's degree in computer science, information technology, or a related field.
-3+ years of experience working in an enterprise network operations environment.
-1+ years of experience documenting policies, procedures, and system architecture.
-Strong understanding of networking principles and practices.
-Familiarity with monitoring tools like SolarWinds.
-Proven ability to design and maintain secure, high-performing networks.
-Strong written and verbal communication skills for documentation, technical reporting, and collaboration with stakeholders.
-Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
