Join Fortuna in supporting one of California's largest technology modernization initiatives as a Salesforce Trainer for the Child Welfare Services – California Automated Response and Engagement System (CWS-CARES). In this role, you'll deliver instructor-led training that prepares County employees to confidently use the new CARES application before statewide deployment.
Your first week of role-specific training. Following training, you'll be assigned to provide training support on-site at one location. After the November 30th go-live, successful trainers may transition into Over-the-Shoulder (OTS) Support Specialists, serving as subject matter experts and trusted resources who help end users confidently adopt the new system through the end of January.
This is an excellent opportunity for experienced Salesforce trainers and enterprise software trainers who enjoy educating others, supporting technology adoption, and making a meaningful impact during a large-scale implementation.
WORKSITE: On-site at one of the following locations: Palmdale, Glendale, Norwalk or Long Beach
DURATION: 9/1/2026-11/30/2026 with possible extension
PAY RATE: $40.00 per hour
ABOUT THE PROJECT
The Child Welfare Services–California Automated Response and Engagement System (CWS-CARES) is California's next-generation child welfare platform built on Salesforce technology. During the Go-Live period, trainers will provide onsite, over-the-shoulder support to Child Welfare professionals, helping users successfully transition from legacy systems to the new application while reinforcing training, answering questions, and promoting user confidence.
WHAT YOU'LL DO
- Provide onsite over-the-shoulder support to end users during Salesforce Go-Live activities.
- Complete a one-week role-specific training program before deployment.
- Deliver instructor-led training virtually and/or onsite using client-developed curriculum and training materials.
- Prepare County employees to successfully utilize the CWS-CARES Salesforce platform prior to go-live.
- Reinforce training by answering user questions, coaching end users, and supporting successful technology adoption during implementation.
- Coach users on Salesforce workflows, navigation, and daily business processes.
- Reinforce instructor-led training by answering questions and providing real-time guidance.
- Assist users in navigating system functionality and resolving common workflow challenges.
- Document recurring issues and provide feedback to the Training and Organizational Change Management teams.
- Escalate system defects and technical issues through established project processes.
- Partner with project leadership, Organizational Change Management (OCM), business analysts, and technical teams to support successful user adoption.
- Maintain a positive, professional, and customer-focused presence while supporting Child Welfare professionals during implementation.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING REQUIRED
- Hands-on Salesforce experience is required.
- Experience supporting or training end users on Salesforce applications.
- Experience participating in enterprise software implementations or system Go-Live activities.
- Experience delivering instructor-led training, floor support, or over-the-shoulder coaching.
- Excellent communication and customer service skills.
- Ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical users.
- Comfortable working onsite at a designated location from 9/1 -11/30/2026.
PREFERRED
- Experience supporting Health & Human Services, Public Sector, or Child Welfare organizations.
- Organizational Change Management (OCM) experience.
- Salesforce Administrator certification or Salesforce Trailhead credentials.
- Experience supporting large-scale technology implementations.
This is a unique opportunity to participate in the full lifecycle of a major statewide Salesforce implementation-from preparing users through instructor-led training to serving as a trusted subject matter expert during post-go-live support. Rather than a short-term training assignment, you'll remain engaged through implementation, helping ensure a successful transition for thousands of end users.
