The Senior Java Developer will support the design, development, and modernization of secure enterprise applications within a federal law enforcement environment. This role focuses on developing cloud-native Java applications deployed within AWS environments supporting mission-critical investigative and operational systems. The developer will work with engineering teams to build scalable microservices, modernize legacy applications, and implement secure development practices within a highly regulated federal environment.
Candidates must hold an active Top Secret / Sensitive Compartmented Information (TS/SCI) clearance.
WORK SITE: Remote
PAY RATE: $100.00 -$110.00
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Design and develop secure Java-based applications within AWS cloud environments
Build and maintain microservices using Java, Spring Boot, and REST APIs
Develop scalable applications using AWS services such as EC2, Lambda, S3, and RDS
Implement containerized applications using Docker and Kubernetes/EKS
Develop CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment workflows
Participate in system architecture discussions and modernization initiatives
Troubleshoot performance issues and optimize application performance
Collaborate with cybersecurity teams to ensure compliance with federal security requirements
Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior developers
Document technical solutions and development processes
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:
Active TS/SCI security clearance
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience)
8+ years of software development experience
Strong experience with Java and Spring Boot
Experience developing applications within AWS cloud environments
Experience with REST APIs and microservices architecture
Familiarity with containerization technologies (Docker, Kubernetes)
Experience with CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, GitLab, or similar
Experience working in secure federal or defense environments
